GENTLEMEN:
All classes, all levels:
White fitted t-shirt or black men’s cap-sleeve leotard, black jazz pants (dance belt when appropriate), black lightweight socks, black split sole jazz shoes and/or black oxford tap shoes.
§ The items above are classroom uniform components. All students may be required to purchase other items for performances. We will do our best to lend items to the students or provide low-cost rental options. Intermediate and advance students (whose feet have slowed or stopped growing) are encouraged to purchase their own as an investment for future performances.
§ Should a student forget any mandatory items for class work, the teacher may ask the student to sit and observe class. This is for their safety and at the teacher’s discretion.
§ Ladies’ hair must be secured in a bun at ALL TIMES. If hair is short, a stretch-comb style head band will be necessary. No hair accessories (scrunchies, bun covers, etc.) should be on or around your bun. Students should have extra hair pins, hair elastics, and hair gel/spray on hand. (see our website at www.richexperformingarts.org for how to make a bun). Students without the proper materials to make a bun will be given an “emergency bun kit” and $2 will be charged to their account.
§ NO JEWELRY allowed except stud earrings. Do not bring valuables to the studio! RichEx is not responsible for lost or stolen articles.
§ Underwear should not be worn under dance attire. Tights are made with a cotton crotch for proper hygiene so this creates no health risk for the student.
§ If ladies opt to wear pants in class, tights must be worn underneath. Students may be asked to remove cover-ups at any time.
§ Dance shoes are not to be worn outside. Street shoes may not be worn in the studio.
